Warning and indicator lamps for electric cars

An overview of a selection of symbols and possible meanings of warning and indicator lamps for electric cars using an ID.3 as an example.

The warning and indicator lamps depicted here are only a selection of the possible lights in a Volkswagen.

They are shown in the following using the example of an ID.3 – the symbols and their descriptions often differ for other models and also over time. You can find detailed information on your car in your printed owner’s manual or in the digital owner’s manual in the vehicle infotainment system – or online in the Digital Manual.

Digital owner’s manual

You don’t have to know the many functions or indicator and warning lamps in your vehicle by heart. Your manual takes care of that for you – now also available online. For Volkswagen models with a production date from 01/08/2019 onwards, you can simply enter the vehicle identification number (VIN). If you have an older vehicle, all important information can be found in your printed owner’s manual.
