With the ID. software 3.7, "bidirectional charging" will be enabled for all ID. vehicles (with a 77 kWh battery or more) that did not have the ID. software 3.5 previously. For more information, please contact your local Volkswagen Retailer.

Furthermore, you benefit from the following optimisations for your ID. with this update:

  • Minimisation of noise during charging caused by interference with some mains connections
  • Drive behaviour improvements
  • Infotainment system stabilisation
  • Additional optimisations and bug fixes

Execution of the update

The ID. software 3.7 update is offered to you as an Over-the-Air update. It is free of charge for you.

Please read the update information that is displayed in the "Release Notes"  in the ID. infotainment system carefully.

Requirements

The requirements for obtaining the ID. software 3.7 Over-the-Air are an active We Connect1 contract and the previous version ID. software 3.2. Due to a legal requirement, your one-time consent to the use of data is necessary so that we can send the data for the ID. Software Over-the-Air to your vehicle. To do this, you can simply log in to myVolkswagen with your Volkswagen ID user account and give your consent.

Installation of updates

The installation of the Over-the-Air update will take approx. 4 hours. You will be informed of the exact time in the infotainment system of your ID.

A separate We Connect or We Connect Plus contract must also be concluded online with Volkswagen AG. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data over the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider are required to use the free We Connect app. The availability of the individual We Connect and We Connect Plus services described in the packages may differ between countries and depends on both the vehicle and its equipment. The services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes or ceased during the contract period.
